As always, we recommend making things easy on yourself by ordering one of our kits to make your Chamomile Tote. Each kit is fully customizable, and we now offer even more choices, including metal zippers (by popular demand!)
Here is a rundown of what you will need for your Chamomile:
Fabric, Both Versions:
Outer Fabric: 5/8 yard of 54” wide heavyweight fabric such as canvas, denim, or waxed canvas. Look for canvas that is at least 10 oz weight.
Outer Contrast Fabric: 1/4-3/8 yard of 54” wide heavyweight fabric such as canvas, denim, or waxed canvas. Please note: the pattern piece is 9” long. We include a 10” long piece of fabric in our kits, but if you get exactly 1/4 yard of fabric it may not be quite enough. Look for canvas that is at least 10 oz weight. This will be the bottom panel fabric, so a darker color is recommended.
Version A Lining: 5/8 yard of 54” wide medium weight fabric such as twill or canvas. Lighter weight fabrics will also work, but you may need to add interfacing.
Version A Pocket Lining: 1/4 yard 42” wide light to medium weight fabrics such as twill, poplin, quilting cotton or cotton shirting.
Version B Lining: 1/2 yard of 54” wide medium weight fabric such as twill or canvas. Lighter weight fabrics will also work, but you may need to add interfacing.

Other tools and supplies:
Clips: Wonder Clips/Clover Clips, mini binder clips, or mini clothes pins will all do the trick. Pins just won't work very well on this project, especially if you are using waxed canvas. If you haven't jumped on the clip train, now is the time!
You will also need: seam ripper or small embroidery scissors, pliers, marking tools.
A Couple of Notes on Supplies:
For best results, the contrast fabric, webbing, and zippers (Version A) should all be the same color. We recommend a dark color such as navy or black for these parts of the bag. Also make sure that all of hardware matches!
